Kristy Kester
of
Royalty, TX, proudly represents the next generation of supremely
talented and up-and-coming women in auto racing. For the past seven
years, Kristy has been honing her driving skills on race tracks around
the US, and she has proven with absolute
certainty that she can compete with the best drivers in her class.
Kristy has captured the imagination and attention of her racing
driving coach― winner of Le Mans, Daytona and a
six-time racer in the Indy 500, Davy Jones. The coach and driver duo
have now set their mutual sights on a future in the IRL and the Indianapolis 500.
Born in Odessa, Texas, Kristy Dawn
Kester attended Grandfalls-Royalty High
School where she graduated as class
Valedictorian. Now entering her second year at Texas A & M University, she is majoring in Biomedical
Sciences and plans to charge through her undergraduate studies to enter
medical school.
A natural athlete who enjoys basketball and volleyball, Kristy
first fell in love with racing as a 12 year-old when she went to watch
her brother, J.C., race karts at a local track in
Odessa. On that same day, she was given the
opportunity to test her own skills in a kart, and she qualified to
participate in the Briggs Kart Class for the rest of the season.
Kristy quickly moved up the racing classes into TAG and the Briggs World
Formula Series. She spent two successful seasons in the 5-hp Briggs
class and two seasons in the stock 125 cc class. In Karting, Kristy has
multiple first, second and third place finishes. To further prove her
unique driving talents, Kristy placed 2nd
at the 2005
IKF Road Race Grand Nationals, and won several WTKA Karting
Championships― all before the age of 19. Next, she began advancing her
skills in a Formula E racecar, where she set fastest race lap, scored three
pole positions, and won two races in the Formula E series. Her next
racing objective is to win the Star Mazda
Mazda Series Championship.
Kristy Kester successfully combines her small town warmth and true
family values with all the passion, focus, talent and determination
required to excel in a male-dominated sport. On her road into the Indy
Car Series, Kristy will soon be known on a national level― and she will
no doubt make headlines as the new shining star of Texas.
